Empty Bowls Fundraiser

LOCAL CHEFS AND BAKERY

This fall’s Empty Bowls Fundraiser is fueled by the generosity and culinary brilliance of three beloved Orcas Island chefs: Avery Adams of Matia Kitchen, Charles Dalton from The Kitchen, and Savahna Schuhmacher of Savory Food Truck. These chefs are bringing more than just flavor—they’re bringing heart.

Joining them is Orcas Bakery, whose artisan breads will be served alongside the soul-warming soups, adding a comforting touch to every bowl. Each dish will be presented in handcrafted pottery made by local artists—a beautiful collaboration of food, art, and music, all in support of a vital cause: fighting hunger in our community.

Their passion, creativity, and commitment to giving back remind us that a simple bowl of soup can carry a powerful message of care and connection.

Come share a meal, support the mission, and be part of something truly nourishing.

ISLAND POTTERS

At the heart of the Empty Bowls Fundraiser is a simple yet powerful idea: every bowl tells a story. This fall, that story is shaped—literally—by the hands of San Juan County's  local potters, who are generously donating their time, talent, and artistry to support our community.

Each handcrafted bowl is a one-of-a-kind creation, made with care and intention by artists who believe in the power of giving. Guests at the event will choose a bowl to keep, a tangible reminder of the meal they shared and the cause they supported. It’s more than pottery—it’s a symbol of compassion, connection, and hope.

By partnering with these incredible artists, Empty Bowls becomes a celebration of local craft and collective generosity. Their work transforms a simple fundraiser into a meaningful experience that nourishes both body and soul.

We’re proud to showcase the artistry of our island’s potters and deeply grateful for their contributions. Every bowl filled helps fill another—across our community and beyond.
